In a minimum two-page essay describe in detail the growing strains being placed on American Democracy and how to address them.Students around the world are taught that the United States is the world’s oldest constitutional democracy. It may not be or was ever perfect – how could it have been when enslaved people were excluded and women only got the vote 100 years ago  – but for the most part it works, supported by our system of checks and balances and the familiar call to a government by “We the people.”Deep cracks are beginning to show in some of our core institutions and the structures of democracy itself that raise the question: How fragile is our democracy? How best can our American democracy address issues of freedom, democracy, equality, and civil rights?
